Some Common Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures

Some Common Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures

May 22, 2021 by Harry

A smiling face appears warmer and more beautiful. A lovely smile can instantly win over people. That is why most people put much emphasis on oral health since everyone quickly notices it.

Since the first impression is the lasts, you should invest in enhancing your smile. Damaged, missing, stained, or chipped teeth can negatively impact your smile. Therefore, you should ensure that people are not put off by your dental issues. There is no need to live life with yellow, stained, or discolored teeth. Such teeth reduce confidence, damaged pride, and might make one feel uncomfortable in social gatherings.

It’s rare to meet someone who was born with perfect teeth. Most people at one point have considered teeth whitening, braces, and other cosmetic dentistry procedures.

The following are a few cosmetic dentistry procedures:

  • Bleaching: A whiter smile, commonly referred to as Hollywood Smile, is one of the easiest dental and most popular procedures. Enhanced teeth whitening is of such appeal that today many kinds of toothpaste we buy from our local drug shops contain teeth whitening components. Nowadays, there are various home kits and tools you can buy from local stores to enhance the whiteness of your teeth right from your house.
  • Crowns: Most often, and more so with age, teeth are subject to wear and change size and shape. While this is normal, it is vital to maintain teeth intact throughout one’s life. Doctors use crowns or caps to achieve that. Caps cover teeth and restore them to their normal appearance and shape. Often, caps or crowns are used together with the root canal.
  • Veneers; in most cases, the sections of our mouth that are primarily visible such as the front teeth, are the ones that require fixing. Veneers enhance the shape of your teeth. Dentists pace these thin, tiny pieces over the teeth to change, stained, uneven, or chipped teeth. Veneers are a substitute for crowns, which are far more costly. Nevertheless, veneers have a shorter life span.
  • Bonding and reshaping: Bonding like veneers helps to change the color of your teeth. Moreover, dentists use bonding to fill in small cavities. Mostly, bonding lasts a few years, and cosmetic dentists can do it on a client in a single office visit. During reshaping, the dentist drills and files the teeth to make them cleaner, look congruent, and give the patient a more precise smile.
  • Microabrasion: Microabrasion is the process of removing layers of your teeth’ enamel gently to get rid of white, brown, or yellow stains. Microabrasion quick and painless; this allows you to restore your smile in just a day. The method includes a fluoride gel to help you deal with teeth sensitivity.
  • Dental Implants: Losing teeth in an accident is never a pleasant experience. Dental services may help reattach viable teeth if the roots are not damaged if you make it to the dentist on time. Nevertheless, for teeth that dentists cannot repair, implants are an ideal alternative. Dental implants feel and look like regular teeth but are designed for durability and may even last a lifetime.
  • Gum Rejuvenation: For people who suffer from gum disease, receding gums, and gingivitis, gum rejuvenation is the best option. There are many grafting options and non-invasive surgeries that can rejuvenate your gums.

Who needs Cosmetic Dentistry?

Cosmetic surgery may not be appropriate for everyone. A number of these procedures can be time-consuming and expensive. However, their overall mental and physical health benefits are worth the investment. These procedures improve health and oral hygiene and increase your self-confidence, allowing you to have a happier lifestyle. Additionally, being able to eat pain-free and comfortably can have a significant impact on your health.
